DIRECTIONS
White River West Sno Park The Tubbs Romp to Stomp occurs at the White River West Sno Park on Mt Hood just 7 miles past Government Camp. From Portland take HWY 26 to Mt. Hood. Continue past Government Camp a few miles to the HWY 35 junction. Take HWY 35 (North/East) towards Hood River. The Sno Park will be on the left (West) a few miles past the intersection. Be sure to have a current Sno Park Permit displayed in your vehicle.
Event Day Check-In Area Park at the Sno Park and head towards the tents in the North end of the parking lot.
The Start/Finish Line
Just follow the crowd of people! The start/finish line begins a few hundred feet north of the parking lot and main check-in area.
PARKING
PLEASE CARPOOL! Parking is limited at the Sno Park, so please carpool if you can. Be cautious and please DO NOT block any traffic driving on the main road. Do not park on the highway.
You’ll need to have a VALID SNO PARK PERMIT in order to park. Permits can be purchased at all Portland-area REI stores and Otto’s (in Sandy on the way up the mountain). Sno-Park permits issued by Washington, California and Idaho are honored in Oregon.
After Parking…
If you already checked-in at either priority check-in locations (REI or Columbia)
Gather your belongings (don’t forget your bib!!) and head toward the main “expo” area. Turn in any extra donations or fundraising, get some coffee or cocoa, or pick up a pair of demo snowshoes if you can’t bring your own. Just be sure to be ready to go (with snowshoes strapped on) at your start time (9am Racers; 9:30am BOTH 3k and 5k Walkers).
If you need to check-in or register Saturday morning
Gather your belongings and head toward Registration/Check-in area. Check-in or register, submit donations or fundraising, and then head to the demo tent (if necessary), Just be sure to be ready to go at the start line with snowshoes strapped on at your start time (9am Racers; 9:30am BOTH 3k and 5k Walkers).
ACCOMODATIONS
Why not extend your Romp experience into a whole weekend? There’s plenty of wonderful places to stay within just a few miles of the Romp to Stomp event location. Check out accomdations near Government Camp or Welches. Head up to the mountain Friday night or stay through Sunday to ski or snowshoe at Mt Hood’s awesome resorts.
